From Spark to Flame:
Learning to Outsmart Anger

Meditation Retreat
Sat. March 23rd, 10am-1pm

This retreat will focus on practical Buddhist methods and meditations for transforming anger and conflict. Anger is one of our most powerful emotions, and just one instant of anger can ruin a relationship or jeopardize our job. It also negatively impacts our health and well-being, including our spiritual progress.

To overcome anger, we have to learn new and creative ways of responding to it. The more clearly we understand that the sole function of anger is to make us miserable and stressed, the more motivated we will be to train in patience and love. Abandoning our anger is a big job, so we need to learn to apply the opponents skillfully. If we take it one step at a time, it will not be so difficult, and gradually the tendencies of anger in our mind will become weaker and weaker. Everyone is welcome! With Guest Buddhist Teacher, Bill Spurrell.

Bill Spurrell has been a student of Kadampa Buddhism for 30 years and is on the Foundation Program at Kuluta Buddhist Centre. He is well-loved for his warmth and kindness. His teaching style inspires people to put Dharma into practice in a jofyul and grounded manner.
