Buddhist Meditation Retreat:
Healing Past Hurt
Sat. May 11th, 10am-1pm
Do you ever feel chained to painful past experiences? These thoughts and memories can creep into the present, interfere with our well-being, and distort the future, making it feel uninspired or bleak. Moving on from hurt feelings, guilt, and resentment begins with addressing these responses as they arise, rather than pushing them away.
In this retreat, we will learn how to free ourselves from incorrect and undeserving ways of looking at our own past and ourself. Buddha taught that the mind creates our reality, and though we can’t undo the past, we can begin to project a more deserving, forgiving, and realistic sense of self, based on the here and now. With Buddhist nun and Teacher, Gen Chöyang.
Everyone is welcome!
Schedule:
Session 1: 10:00 – 11:15am
Session 2: 11:45am – 1pm
Cost: $30; no one turned away for lack of funds. If you want to come to one session only, please drop in.
Retreat held at Kuluta Buddhist Centre: 82 Sydenham St 2nd Fl., Kingston ON (inside the Sydenham St. United Church).
