A Quiet Space for Remembrance and Reflection

Thursday, September 30th, 10am to 2:00pm

The Spire will be open from 10:00am to 2:00pm to all visitors as a place for personal reflection on September 30th, the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.
This National Day honours the lost children and survivors of residential schools, their families, and their communities. Our commemoration of the tragic and painful history and ongoing impacts of residential schools is a vital component of the reconciliation process.
Located at 82 Sydenham Street in downtown Kingston, The Spire, in cooperation with Sydenham Street United Church, invites everyone to visit the quiet of the sanctuary, light a candle and reflect on the consequences of the loss of culture, freedom, and even life itself experienced by so many Indigenous children.
To keep everyone healthy, we will ask you to: wear a mask, show proof that you are doubly vaccinated, and respond to the usual COVID screening questions.

An event coordinated by the Joint Truth and Reconciliation Action Group of Chalmers, Faith and Sydenham Street United Churches, Kingston, Ontario.
